DATA Derby Board meets. Jan 26.
Last night, 26th January, the board of DATA met to discuss the recent trade meeting and the forthcoming Council Committee meeting in March.
The main focus of the discussion was, of course, the upcoming vote on the council consultation regarding the 5-year clause in the private hire vehicle specifications.
The board has submitted a trade report and industry feedback to the council, in the hope that it will be included in the councillor briefing pack ahead of the meeting.
DATA would like to express its sincere thanks to members of the Derby driver community who took the time to complete the consultation. Simple actions like engaging with the council through these formal processes help to strengthen the trade’s unity and, importantly, show the council that we as an industry must be involved in decisions, industry development and the future direction of the trade.
Other agenda items included the future of DATA itself.
The Derby Area Taxi Association is run by volunteers to promote a Derby-first agenda, encourage a unified mentality among the city’s professional drivers and build stronger, more constructive relationships with the council.
If you would like to get involved, please reach out and say hello. The more voices we can engage, the stronger we become. Your voice matters.
We met at Tarka on Midland Road, and meetings are usually followed by a shared meal. Great hospitality and absolutely cracking food. Heartily recommended – Michael. Thanks to Narj for organising.
